WALT: Identify punctuation when reading

I am proud that I know speech marks mean that the characters talking. It also means that I use expression. 

WAL: Basic facts

I competed against Carlisle, Jack and Jasper on slide Maths.  I had to find out the answer and slide it into the middle. 

It was tricky because there were so many different kinds of questions like addition and subtraction. The most difficult questions were ones with a missing number. 

WALT: Use a range of different resources

I have used dye, collage and pen to create each leaf.

We know that 3D shapes:

WALT:Use the space around us

Room 30 have loved going to Youth Town. 

We had FUN, LISTENED and LEARNT some very fun skills like:

• following instructions
• team work
• finding/using space

WALT: Summarise key ideas

We read the book 'Walking in Summer' and discussed the key ideas. Have a look at this POPLET we made to share our summary.

Pranav says, "I am so proud of my concentration when I read because it helps me to read well and summarise the key parts."

 

WALT: Use capital letters and full stops.

 To celebrate Mothers' Day we used Tagul to make a note to our Mum's. 

Pranav says, "I am learning to use capital letters and full stops. I know that capital letters go at the start of a sentences and are used for a name. I know full stops go at the end of a sentence. "

WALT: answer questions

In Reading this term we have been learning:

• to answer questions using the text and the pictures
• to understand what is a compound word
• to identify and understand punctuation in texts
• to understand the features of fiction/non-fiction texts

WALT: Check our writing makes sense

In Writing this term we have been learning to:

• use capital letters and full stops
• check our writing makes sense
• write in detail (more than one idea/add interesting words-adjectives)
• write in sequence using words like first, next and after that

We had to share something ABOUT ME, and write 2 sentences about something we like. 

Pranav says, "I read my work to check it."

IAL: How to read graphs and talk about them

(We have used the Statistics activities on Mathletics to practice what we have been learning.)

For our Maths Strand this term we have been learning all about Statistics.

We have collected different kinds of data and assembled this information onto the graphs.

The next time you visit our classroom check-out the different graphs we have made on the walls.

Pranav says, "It is easy. I just have to count."

IALT: Get in and out of the pool safely

We have been learning how to get in and out of the pool using the ladders and the edge of the pool. We know how to use both hands to support us and to turn around before getting off the ladder.
